Abstract

Ovaj rad istražuje ulogu kritičke pedagogije u obrazovanju uzimajući u obzir činjenicu da škole nisu samo mjesta za poučavanje, već i politička mjesta uključena u izgradnju i kontrolu diskursa, značenja i subjektivnosti. Kritički aspekt radikalne pedagogije ogleda se u refleksivnom razumijevanju interesa i načina na koji se interesi mogu transformirati u svrhu promicanja kritičke misli i djelovanja. Rad se temelji na promišljanjima sljedećih predstavnika kritičke teorije i kritičke pedagogije: Frankfurtska škola, Henry Giroux, Antonio Gramsci, Paulo Freire, Ira Shor. U okviru njihovih radova analizira se uloga ideologije u obrazovanju. Ideologija postaje važno kritičko pedagoško sredstvo kada se koristi za ispitivanje odnosa između dominantne školske kulture i njoj proturječnih proživljenih učeničkih iskustava. Također se u radu prikazuje Girouxova ideja o važnosti teorije otpora za razvijanje kritičke pedagogije te zašto Gramsci ističe jedinstvo škole i života. Analizira se i Freireovo obrazovanje za „oslobođenje“ koje se temelji na metodi „postavljanja problema“ i metodi dijaloga. Rad odgovara i na važno pitanje o tome kako učitelji sudjeluju u pružanju uvjeta učenicima za razvoj kritičkog mišljenja. Cijeli rad prožima ideja o školovanju kao društvenom procesu.

Abstract (english)

This paper explores the role of critical pedagogy in education, considering the fact that schools are not only places for analyzing but also political places involved in the establishment and control of discourse, meaning, and subjectivity. The critical aspect of radical pedagogy reflects an intuitive understanding of interests and ways of transforming them to encourage critical thoughts and actions. The work is based on the views of the following spokesmen of critical theory and pedagogy: Frankfurt School, Henry Giroux, Antonio Gramsci, Paulo Freire, Ira Shor. Their work analyzes the role of ideology in education. The ideology becomes an important critical and pedagogical medium for examining the relations between a dominant school culture and the opposed, lived experiences that mediate in the school life structure. Likewise, this paper also portrays Giroux’s idea about the importance of resistance theory in developing critical pedagogy and explains the reasons behind Gramsci’s emphasis on the unity between school and life. Freire’s education for “liberation”, which is based on the “problem setting” and the method of dialogue, is also analyzed. The paper answers an essential question: How do teachers offer the students conditions for developing critical thinking? The whole paper is permeated with the idea of schooling as a social process.
