Abstract

Pojam „tehnologije“ obuhvaća sve alate, materijale i strojeve koji služe za izradu nekog proizvoda ili obavljanje neke aktivnosti, počevši od koplja pa sve do najmodernijih strojeva i računala. Iako je tehnologija oduvijek i bitno utjecala na čovjekov život, njen utjecaj nikada nije bio tako dominantan kao pri začetku druge industrijske revolucije pa sve do danas. Moderna tehnologija promijenila je način na koji čovjek radi, živi i razmišlja što je bitno utjecalo i na sve ostala područja ljudskog djelovanja. Središnje zanimanje ovog rada bit će utjecaj tehnologije na tri odvojena, ali usko povezana područja – znanje, obrazovanje i knjižnice. U radu će se istražiti koje su se sfere znanja proširile, a koje suzile, i kako se ono danas prenosi i doživljava. Također će se usporediti pojam znanja danas u odnosu na ono prije razvoja tehnologije, i kako to utječe na razvoj znanosti, ali i na čovjeka kao osobu. Drugi dio diplomskog rada ticati će se knjižnice i njenog poslovanja. Naime, promjenom poimanja znanja, mijenja se i uloga knjižnice u društvu, a samim tim nužno i njeno poslovanje. Iako će naglasak rada biti na kritici tehnologije, prikazat će se i brojne pozitivne primjene tehnologije unutar tri ciljana područja.

Abstract (english)

The concept of „technology“ includes all tools, materials and machines that serve for production of some product or preformance of some activity, starting from spear all the way to the most modern machines and computers. Although technology has always and essentialy affected human life, its influence has never been that dominant as at the beginning of second industrial revolution till today. Modern technology has changed the way man works, lives and thinks which significantly affected and every other domain of human action. Central occupation of this work will be influence of technology on three separated, although narrowly connected areas – knowledge, education and liberaries. In the paper will be explored which spheres of knowledge have expanded, which have narrowed, and how is it transmitted and experienced today. The notion of knowledge today will also be compared to that before the development of technology, and how that affects on science development, but also to a man as a person. The second part of graduate thesis will concern library and its management. However, as the notion of knowledge changes, the role of library in society also changes, and thus its management. Although the emphasis of the work will be on critique of technology, a number of positive applications of the technology within the three target areas will also be presented.
