Abstract

Važnu ulogu u svakodnevnom životu i obrazovanju u materinskom, ali i u stranom jeziku ima vještina čitanja. U ovladavanju tom vještinom osobito su važne strategije čitanja. Stoga smo ovaj rad posvetili kognitivnim i metakognitivnim strategijama čitanja na materinskom, hrvatskom jeziku. Pokušali smo ustanoviti kojim se strategijama čitanja koriste učenici srednjih škola gimnazijskog i strukovnog programa te smo nastojali ispitati postoje li razlike u upotrebi strategija čitanja učenika dvaju navedenih programa. Ujedno smo nastojali ustanoviti postoje li razlike u upotrebi strategija čitanja učenika prvih i drugih razreda srednjih škola. Istraživački instrument korišten u ovom istraživanju je upitnik. Rezultati pokazuju da se ispitanice češće koriste ispitivanim strategijama od ispitanika. Pokazalo se da učenici koji više čitaju češće upotrebljavaju ispitivane strategije. Nisu ustanovljene značajnije razlike u upotrebi strategija čitanja učenika gimnazijskog i strukovnog programa, kao ni učenika prvih i drugih razreda srednjih škola.

Abstract (english)

Reading skills play an important role in everyday life, in both native and foreign language learning. They are of great importance to good language knowledge. Therefore, this paper deals with cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies of reading in mother tongue, in this case Croatian language. We have tried to determine what reading strategies do students of high school program use and also what strategies those of vocational school program use, to verify if there are some differences among them. Also, we endeavoured to determine if there are some differences between the students of first and other school classes. Research instrument used in this exploration was questionnaire. Results show that female students use reading strategies more often than males. Also, students who read more tend to use strategies oftentimes. However, there were no established differences among students on the basis of the program they attend or the school class they belong to.
