Abstract

Tema rada vezana je uz složenu ulogu školskog knjižničara u američkom i hrvatskom sustavu obrazovanja te koncept prakse utemeljene na dokazima. Iz postojeće literature na području školskog knjižničarstva i nacionalnih dokumenata istražuju se percepcije i utjecaji na ulogu školskog knjižničara, smjernice i (samo)vrednovanje rada. U tom smislu izložen je koncept prakse utemeljene na dokazima te načini i prijedlozi dokazivanja učinkovitosti školskih knjižničara koji utječu na postignuća učenika.
U analizi stručne literature iznose se problemi s kojima se školski knjižničari u svom radu suočavaju te prijedlozi rješenja tih problema korištenjem EBP-a u svakodnevnom radu. Da bi učinkovito ostvario svoj plan i program, u skladu sa stručnim i nacionalnim smjernicama te vizijom i misijom škole u kojoj knjižnica djeluje, školski knjižničari trebaju se, osim formalnog obrazovanja, kontinuirano neformalno usavršavati razvijajući svoje stručne kompetencije. Rad školskih knjižničara potrebno je sustavno i mjerodavno (samo)vrednovati kako bi se uvela poboljšanja, za što su također potrebne smjernice.

Abstract (english)

The topic of the paper is related to the complex role of the school librarian in the American and Croatian education system and the concept of evidence-based practice. From the existing literature in the field of school librarianship and national documents, perceptions and influences on the role of the school librarian, guidelines and (self) evaluation of the work are investigated. In this sense, the concept of evidence-based practice is presented, as well as ways and suggestions for proving the effectiveness of school librarians that influence student achievement.
In the analysis of the professional literature, the problems that school librarians face in their work are presented, as well as suggestions for solutions to these problems using EBP in their daily work. In order to effectively implement their plan and program, in accordance with professional and national guidelines and the vision and mission of the school where the library operates, school librarians should, in addition to formal education, continuously improve themselves informally by developing their professional competencies. The work of school librarians needs to be systematically and authoritatively (self) evaluated in order to introduce improvements, for which guidelines are also needed.
