Abstract

U ovom završnom radu obraditi ću temu internet streaming servisa. Pisati ću prije svega o
počecima internet streaming servisa i kako se kretao njihov razvoj u posljednjih dvadesetak
godina sve do onoga što danas podrazumijevamo pod pojmom internet streaminga. Spomenuti ću
i neke od najvećih svjetskih, ali i regionalnih glazbenih i video streaming servisa, i usluga
internetske digitalne televizije te ih usporediti na temelju njihovih ključnih značajki. Na što
jednostavniji način objasniti ću kako funkcioniraju, na koji su se način mijenjali i unaprjeđivali,
koji su najveći problemi i izazovi pred internet servisima, te koliki utjecaj zapravo imaju na
društvo i pojedince, te na razvoj medijskih usluga.

Abstract (english)

In this paper I will deal with the topic of Internet streaming service. Firstly, I will write about the
beginnings of the streaming services and their development over the past twenty years up to what
we today consider by the term Internet streaming. I will also mention some of the world's largest,
but also some of the regional music and video streaming services, and the Internet digital
television service and compare it based on its features. I will explain in the simpleest way how
they work, how they changed and improved, what are the biggest problems and challenges for
Internet services, what impact it has on society and individuals as well as on the development of
media services.
