Dubrovačke ljetne igre su najstariji i najprestiţniji ljetni festival na Jadranu čiji počeci seţu još od 50-ih godina 20. st. Jedan od ciljeva ovoga rada je doprinjeti razumijevanju vaţnosti i značaja Dubrovačkih ljetnih igara kao najreprezentativnijeg hrvatskog festivala relevantnog i u svjetskim razmjerima. Radom na izvornoj arhivskoj i novinskoj graĎi vezanoj uz Dubravačke ljetne igre pokušala se prikazati najranija povijest ovog dubrovačkog festivala. Temeljni cilj rada je prikaz procesa konstituiranja Dubrovačkih ljetnih igara kao festivala te njihova tranzicija iz lokalnog festivala u najvaţniji jugoslavenski festival svjetskog značaja sredinom 50-ih godina 20. st. Rad je tematski podijeljen na pet poglavlja od kojih se svako fokusira na odreĎeni aspekt festivalske povijesti ljetnih igara (socio-kulturni kontekst, repertoar, institucionalna povijest, odnos politike i festivala) čime sa nastojao ponuditi doprinos u sljedećim historiografskim subdisciplinama: socijalnoj, kulturnoj te političkoj historiji te institucionalnoj povijesti. Abstract (english)

The Dubrovnik Summer Festival is the oldest and most prestigious summer festival in the Adriatic, which dates back all the way to the 1950s. This paper, which is, in a theoretical sense, based on the ethnological subdiscipline of the anthropology of festivals along with the methodology of historical science, focuses on the process of development of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in its formative period, i.e. the first ten years of various festival events (1949-1959). By working on... More original archival and newspaper material related to the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, an attempt was made to present the earliest history of this festival. The main aim of the paper is to present the process of development of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival as a festival and its transition from a local festival to the most important Yugoslav festival that was renowned throughout the world in the mid-1950s. The paper is divided into five chapters, with each of them focusing on a particular aspect of the history of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival (its socio-cultural context, repertoire, institutional history, relationship between politics and festival), thus aiming to contribute to the following historiographical subdisciplines: social, cultural, political and institutional history.
