Abstract

U ovom radu opisana je povijest razvoja filmskih arhiva te postupaka vezanih uz dugoročno očuvanje i restauraciju filmskog gradiva, sa naglaskom na ustrojstvo i djelovanje Hrvatske kinoteke tijekom njezina postojanja, koristeći konkretne primjere projekata i postupaka zaštite određenih filmskih djela. U svrhu razumijevanja zadaća filmskih arhiva te filmskih arhivista i restauratora, pa samim time i Hrvatske kinoteke, sažet je i kontekstualiziran razvoj filma i filmskih tehnologija, sve od prvih amaterskih kratkometražnih crno-bijelih i nijemih filmova na vrpci sa nitratnom podlogom, pa do današnjih globalno dostupnih digitalnih i digitalno obrađenih dugometražnih filmova profesionalne i visoko budžetne filmske produkcije. Također je sažeta i podjela filmskog gradiva i metoda restauracije ovisno o vrsti gradiva u svrhu pregleda dugotrajnog očuvanja gradiva fotokemijskim metodama u njegovom analognom obliku, te digitalnim metodama i računalnim postupcima u svrhu digitalne restauracije i presnimavanja gradiva na elektronske medije.

Abstract (english)

This paper describes the history of the development of film archives and procedures related to the long-term preservation and restoration of film material, with an emphasis on the organization and operation of the Croatian Film Archive during its existence, using specific examples of projects and procedures for preservation of certain films. In order to understand the tasks of film archives, film archivists and restoration specialists, and therefore of the Croatian Film Archive, the development of films and film technologies is summarized and contextualized, from the first amateur short black-and-white and silent films on tape with a nitrate base, to today's globally available digital and digitally processed feature films of professional and high-budget film production. The classification of film material and restoration methods depending on the type of material is also summarized to give an overview of the long-term preservation of film material by photochemical methods in its analogue form and digital methods and computer procedures for the purpose of digital restoration and conversion of the analogue film material to electronic media.
