Abstract

Ovaj završni rad bavi se različitim aspektima jezika mladih u Švedskoj, a posebice utjecajem jezika na identitet. Upravo je jezik glavno sredstvo pomoću kojeg osobe upoznaju sebe te se poistovjećuju s određenom skupinom kojoj žele pripadati. To je posebice vidljivo u jeziku mladih koji se nastoji razlikovati od standardnoga jer mladima omogućuje jedinstveni identitet. Iako se jezik konstanto mijenja, često su upravo mladi zaslužni za stvaranje novih riječi ili njihovih novih obilježja. Jedna od glavnih karakteristika jezika mladih je upravo sleng. Budući da je Švedska multikulturalna država, jezik mladih i sleng pod velikim su utjecajem različitih jezika useljenika, a koji se očituju na svim razinama, od gramatike pa sve do pragmatike i diskursa. Upravo zbog utjecaja različitih jezika i nacija koje žive danas u Švedskoj možemo govoriti o multietničkom jeziku mladih koji se razlikuje od standardnog jezika, a iako dijeli određene karakteristike sa slengom ipak to nije.

Abstract (english)

This final thesis deals with various aspects of the language of young people in Sweden, especially the impact of language on identity. It is language that is the main means by which people get to know themselves and identify with a certain group to which they want to belong. This is particularly visible in the language of young people, which tends to differ from the standard language because it enables young people to have a unique identity. Although the language is constantly changing, it is often the youth who are responsible for creating new words or creating new features of words. One of the main characteristics of the language of young people is precisely slang. Since Sweden is a multicultural country, the youth language and slang are heavily influenced by the different languages of immigrants, which are manifested at all levels of language, from grammar to pragmatics and discourse. It is precisely because of the influence of different languages and nations that live in Sweden today that we can speak of a multiethnic youth language that differs from the standard language, and although it shares certain characteristics with slang, it is not.
