Abstract

Jezičnim kontaktom govornici jednog jezika dolaze u doticaj s drugim jezicima. Nije rijetko niti preuzimanje riječi iz drugih jezika pa su tako anglizmi, od kojih su neki internacionalizmi, prisutni u hrvatskom jeziku, ali i u drugim svjetskim jezicima. Engleske riječi koje nazivamo anglizmima u hrvatski jezik ulaze u potpunosti prilagođene hrvatskom standardnom jeziku, no engleske riječi učestalo ulaze u hrvatski jezik djelomično prilagođene hrvatskom standardnom jeziku, a tada se smatraju tuđicama. Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se jezičnim stavovima o jezičnom purizmu usmjerenom na anglizme. Naime, uz sintagmu jezični purizam nerijetko se vežu negativne konotacije, dok se anglizmi često smatraju modernima, a engleski jezik smatra se prestižnim i elegantnim. Jezični stavovi, koji su zapravo stavovi o govornicima nekog jezika, uglavnom su stalni i stječemo ih već u ranoj dobi. Ovaj rad sadržava pregled rezultata anketnog istraživanja o jezičnim stavovima o purizmu usmjerenom na anglizme koje je provedeno među srednjoškolcima.

Abstract (english)

By means of language contact, speakers of one language come into contact with other languages. Borrowing words from another languages is not rare, so anglicisms, some of which are internationalisms, are present in the Croatian language, as well as in other languages. English words that we call anglicisms enter the Croatian language completely adapted to the standard Croatian language, but English words often enter the Croatian language partially adapted to the standard Croatian language, and then they are considered foreign loans. This thesis deals with linguistic attitudes about linguistic purism aimed at anglicisms. Namely, the phrase linguistic purism is often associated with negative connotations, while anglicisms are often considered modern, and the English language is considered prestigious and elegant. Language attitudes, which are attitudes about the speakers of a language, are mostly permanent and we acquire them at an early age. This paper contains an overview of the results of a survey on language attitudes about purism aimed at anglicisms, which was conducted among high school students.
