Abstract

Film strave jedan je od žanrova koji u kinematografiji postoje od samih početaka do danas, a svoje korijene nalazi i izvan filmskog medija. Razvoj filma strave kroz tako dugo razdoblje dovest će do velikog grananja filma na razne podžanrove što će dovesti do kompleksnosti pri njegovu određivanju. Sama teorija žanra filma strave bavi se proučavanjem raznih konvencija koje spajaju određene podžanrove filma strave u istu žanrovsku kategoriju, no iako dolazi do neslaganja među autorima u postavljanju konkretnog žanrovskog okvira, s jednim aspektom se svi slažu – cilj filma strave je zastrašiti svoju publiku. I taj cilj ostaje isti sve od prvih filmova strave do danas. Žanr filma strave pronaći će svoj odjek i u hrvatskoj kinematografiji, iako slabašan, a kroz ovaj rad iskristalizirat će se tek sedam hrvatskih filmova koji doista pripadaju tom žanru prema pruženim okvirima.

Abstract (english)

Horror as a film genre is one of the genres that exists from the beginning of cinematography until today, and it finds its roots outside of film medium. The vast time it took for horror to develop resulted in it branching into multiple subgenres which will lead to complications in defining it. Theory of horror genre studies different conventions throughout horror film subgenres to try and merge them into the same genre type which leads to differences in opinion between authors in defining concrete frameworks of the genre. But there is one thing that they all agree on – the goal of the horror film genre is to scare its audience. That goal has stayed the same throughout its history, from its beginnings up until today. Horror film genre will find its way into Croatian cinematography, although meek. Through this paper it will be shown that seven Croatian movies can be considered as belonging to the horror genre, considering given theoretical framework.
