Abstract

Prevođenje je proces kojemu je cilj prenijeti značenje teksta s jednog jezika na drugi. Taj proces su kroz povijest obavljali samo ljudi, međutim, s pojavom i razvojem tehnologije, javlja se strojno prevođenje kojemu je glavni element umjetna inteligencija koja je odigrala transformacijsku ulogu u prevladavanju jezičnih barijera i poboljšanju komunikacije u raznolikim jezičnim okruženjima. Međutim, strojno prevođenje je složeno jer prevođenje nije samo prevođenje jednog standardnog izraza na izvornom jeziku u njegov formalni korespondent na ciljnom jeziku.
Rad „Uloga umjetne inteligencije u prevođenju“ prikazuje što je prevođenje te kako se njemu pristupa. Također se istražuje koju ulogu umjetna inteligencija ima u prevođenju te kakav utjecaj ima na prevoditelje te i cijeli svijet. U radu se, između ostalog, prikazuju dobre i loše strane korištenja umjetne inteligencije u prevođenju kao i njena sama preciznost. Nadalje, u radu se istražuje koje su razlike između prevoditelja i strojnog prevođenja te se na kraju postavlja pitanje: može li umjetna inteligencija zamijeniti ljude u prevođenju?

Abstract (english)

Translation is a process aimed at conveying the meaning of a text from one language to another. Throughout history, this process has been done solely by humans. However, with the emergence and development of technology, machine translation has also come into play, with artificial intelligence as its main element. Artificial intelligence has played a transformative role in overcoming language barriers and enhancing communication in diverse linguistic environments. Nevertheless, machine translation is complex because translation is not merely about translating a standard expression from the source language into its formal equivalent in the target language. The paper "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Translation" explores what translation is and how it is approached. It also investigates the role of artificial intelligence in translation and its impact on translators and the world as a whole. The paper presents both the advantages and disadvantages of using artificial intelligence in translation, as well as its accuracy. Furthermore, it delves into the differences between human translators and machine translation and poses the question: can artificial intelligence replace humans in translation?
