Abstract

U ovom diplomskom radu istražen je društveni fenomen rane seksualne inicijacije, odnosno specifično povezanosti dobi prilikom prvog seksualnog odnosa i seksualnog ponašanja u adolescentskoj dobi. Rana seksualna inicijacija promatra se kao seksualna inicijacija koja se dogodila u 15. godini života ili ranije. Prijašnja istraživanja ukazuju na povezanost rane seksualne inicijacije i kasnijeg seksualno rizičnog ponašanja, no neka istraživanja pokazuju i povezanost rane seksualne inicijacije s potencijalnim prednostima u kasnijem spolnom ponašanju. Podaci korišteni u ovom istraživanju prikupljeni su u istraživačkom projektu SERZAM 2020 putem ankete o seksualnim navikama koja je provedena 2005, 2010 i 2021. godine na populaciji mladih osoba u Hrvatskoj (između 18 i 25 godina). Analiza podataka se temeljila na multivarijatnoj binarnoj logističkoj regresiji Glavni je rezultat koji se tiče negativnih aspekata je statistički značajna povezanost rane seksualne inicijacije sa seksualno rizičnim ponašanjem. S druge strane, po pitanju pozitivnih aspekata (komunikacije s partnerom o seksualnosti, samopouzdanja i seksualnog zadovoljstva) nije pronađena statistički značajna povezanost. Ovi rezultati mogu pomoći daljnjem istraživanju kompleksnog fenomena seksualne inicijacije i njezinih utjecaja na kasniji (seksualni) život pojedinca.

Abstract (english)

In this master’s thesis, focus was on the phenomenon of early sexual initiation. This research defined early sexual initiation as sexual debut at the age of 15 years or younger. Previous research indicated an association between early sexual debut and subsequent sexual risk behaviour. However, some studies also found links between early debut and several positive psychosexual outcomes. Data used in this study was collected in 2005, 2020, and 2021 cross-sectional surveys carried out among emerging Croatian young adults. Data analysis was based on multivariable binary logistic regression. Main result of negative aspects shows that early sexual initiation is connected to sexual risk behaviour. On the other hand, positive aspects (communication with partner, self-esteem, and sexual satisfaction) weren’t connected to early sexual initiation. The results of this study can in developing further research on the complex topic of early sexual initiation and its effects on later (sexual) life.
