Abstract

Stigmatizacija utječe na sliku pojedinca o sebi, te utječe na ozdravljenje. U povijesti je stigma predstavljala negativan žig koji pojedinac nosi do kraja života, danas, protiv stigmatizacije se nastoji boriti jer stigmatizacija povlači za sobom i predrasude, koje nisu poželjne ukoliko psihički oboljela osoba teži ka ozdravljenju. Studije Nacionalnog instituta za mentalno zdravlje, pokazale su da anksiozni poremećaji imaju najveću stopu pojavljivanja od svih mentalnih poremećaja s činjenicom da će se 14,6% populacije tijekom života susresti s nekim oblikom anksioznog poremećaja. Imajući u vidu visok stupanj stigmatizacije prema „drugačijim“ skupinama ljudi, provedeno je istraživanje, putem anonimne ankete, u kojem su ispitani stavovi, iskustva i predrasude studenata na visokim učilištima u Zagrebu, prema različitim skupinama ljudi, koji pate od depresije i anksioznosti. U sklopu izrade diplomskog rada, provedena je online anketa „Stigmatizacija i stavovi o oboljelim od anksioznosti i depresije“ na 152 studenta visokih učilišta u Zagrebu 2022 godine. Rezultati analize stavova i predrasuda pokazuju kako postoji značajna razlika s obzirom na dob i spol studenata, područje studiranja, ali i razinu studija. Dok statistički značajna razlika s obzirom na regionalnu pripadnost studenata kao i materijalno stanje, nije dobivena. Kroz mjerenje stupnja predrasuda prema osobama koji boluju od anksioznosti i depresije, dobiveni rezultati su pokazali blagonaklonost prema oboljelima što je i priželjkivano. Ispitivana je socijalna distanca prema osobama oboljelim od anksioznosti i depresije, te otkrili da bi ispitanici (preko 90% njih) prihvatili veze s osobama koje su u prošlosti bolovali od anksioznosti i depresije, kao i trenutačno.

Abstract (english)

Stigmatization affects an individual's self-image, and affects healing. In history, stigma represented a negative mark that an individual carries for the rest of his life, today, efforts are being made to fight against stigmatization because stigmatization comes in package with prejudices, which are not desirable if a mentally ill person strives for healing. Studies by the National Institute of Mental Health have shown that anxiety disorders have the highest rate of occurrence of all mental disorders with the fact that 14.6% of the population will experience some form of anxiety disorder during their lifetime. Bearing in mind high representation of stigmatization towards "different" groups of people, research was made, through an anonymous survey, in which the attitudes, experiences and prejudices of students at universities in Zagreb were examined, towards different groups of people who suffer from depression and anxiety. As part of the master thesis, an online survey "Stigmatization and attitudes about individuals with anxiety and depression" was conducted on 152 students of universities in Zagreb in 2022. The results of the analysis of attitudes and prejudices show that there is a significant difference regarding age and gender of the students, field of study, as well as level of study. While a statistically significant difference with regard to the regional belonging of the students as well as the material condition, was not obtained. By measuring how high prejudice against people suffering from anxiety and depression can go, results that were received showed benevolence towards the sufferers and that was desired. Social distance towards people suffering from anxiety and depression was examined and it was found that the respondents (over 90% of them) would accept relationships with people who suffered from anxiety and depression in the past, as of suffering right now.
