Abstract

Đuka Kavurić (Zagreb, 10. VI. 1903. — Zagreb, 6. XI. 1976.) bio je hrvatski arhitekt, dizajner interijera, dizajner muzejskih postava, scenograf, profesor, kolekcionar itd.; svestrani profesionalac koji je u svojoj dugogodišnjoj karijeri ostvario niz projekta na različitim poljima. Od 1950-tih Kavurić se posvećuje prostorno-likovnom oblikovanju muzejskih izložbi, dizajnirajući postave muzeja diljem Jugoslavije. Ovaj diplomski rad predstavlja muzeološke projekte Đuke Kavurića na području Republike Hrvatske. Istraživanje se temelji na građi iz osobnog arhivskog fonda Đuke Kavurića pohranjenog u Hrvatskom muzeju arhitekture Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti. Cilj rada je predstaviti i valorizirati Kavurićevo djelovanje na području dizajna muzejskih postava te tako doprinijeti malobrojnim saznanjima o prvim akterima profesionalnog dizajna muzejskih izložbi na hrvatskom prostoru. Opisani su Kavurićevi realizirani projekti za stalne postave: Muzeja Vis - Sjedište VŠ NOV I POJ I NKOJ (Vis), Memorijalnog muzeja Jasenovac (Jasenovac), Muzeja radničkog i narodnooslobodilačkog pokreta Slavonije i Baranje (Slavonski Brod), Muzeja II. kongresa KPJ (Vukovar) i realizirane povremene izložbe u Muzeju revolucije naroda Hrvatske (Zagreb). Dio rada je posvećen i neostvarenim, idejnim projektima s naglaskom na idejne projekte za splitske muzeje. Muzeološki projekti sagledani su i s konzervatorskog gledišta, iščitavajući Kavurićev odnos prema povijesnim građevinama čije interijere je adaptirao za potrebe nove muzejske namjene.

Abstract (english)

Đuka Kavurić (Zagreb, 10 June 1903 - Zagreb, 6 November 1976) was a Croatian architect, interior designer, museum exhibition designer, stage designer, professor, collector etc .; a versatile professional, who in his long career, has accomplished a number of projects in various fields. From the 1950s onwards, Kavurić dedicated himself to the visual and spatial shaping of museum exhibitions by designing museum exhibitions throughout Yugoslavia. This master’s thesis presents the museological projects of Đuka Kavurić on the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The research is based on the material from the personal archives of Đuka Kavurić that is being kept in the in the Croatian Museum of Architecture of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. This thesis’s aim is to present and valorise Kavurić’s activity in the field of museum exhibition design and to contribute to the lacking knowledge about the first professional museum exhibition designers on Croatian territory.
Described are Kavurić's realized projects for permanent exhibitions: Museum Vis - The seat of the Supreme Headquarters of the People's Liberation Army and the Partisan Detachments of Yugoslavia and the National Committee for the Liberation of Yugoslavia (Vis), Memorial Museum Jasenovac (Jasenovac), the Museum of the Worker and National Liberation Movement of Slavonia and Baranja (Slavonski Brod), the Museum of the II. Congress of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (Vukovar) and a few realized temporary exhibitions in the Museum of the Revolution of the Peoples of Croatia (Zagreb). A part of the paper is also dedicated to unrealized, conceptual projects, with an emphasis on conceptual projects for museums in Split. Museological projects have also been viewed from a conservationist point of view, reading into Kavurić's attitude towards historical buildings whose interiors he adapted for the new purpose.
