Abstract

U radu se analizira povezanost dviju filoloških disciplina – stilistike i prevođenja – na primjeru engleskih prijevoda pjesama hrvatske pjesnikinje Anke Žagar. Budući da su navedene discipline tek rijetko bile dovedene u vezu, cilj je ovoga rada ukazati na korisnost (lingvo)stilističke analize u procesu pjesničkog prevođenja te obogatiti ne samo stilističku i prevoditeljsku literaturu već i književno-teorijski, stilistički i traduktološki korpus tekstova o pjesništvu Anke Žagar. More teorijski dio rada fokusiran na istraživanje stilističke problematike književnog, a napose pjesničkog prevođenja, u analitičkom je dijelu rada dan stilistički pregled odabranih pjesama Anke Žagar u hrvatskom i engleskom jeziku kako bi se opisali određeni stilistički problemi s kojima se prevoditelj suočava prilikom prevođenja pjesničkih tekstova. Abstract (english)

The paper explores the interconnection between two philological disciplines – stylistics and translation – by conducting a stylistic analysis of the English translations of selected poems by the Croatian poet Anka Žagar. Considering that the aforementioned disciplines have seldom been linked together, the paper aims to demonstrate the practicality of such analyses in poetry translation and enrich not only the stylistic and translation theory but also the literary, stylistic and... More translation corpora of texts on Anka Žagar’s work. While the theoretical section of the paper is focused on discussing the stylistic problems in literary, and especially poetry translation, the analytical section provides a stylistic overview of the selected poems by Anka Žagar, both in the source and target language, to describe certain stylistic problems that translators are faced with when translating poetry. Research contribution to future studies is the analytical model presented in the paper that can help future translators, stylisticians and literary theorists in translating poetry or analysing translated poetry.
