Abstract

Cilj: U međunarodnim znanstvenim i društvenim krugovim pitanje istraživačkih podataka aktualna je tema proteklih desetak godina. Različiti inozemni primjeri usustavljanja podrške za upravljanje istraživačkim podacima govore nam kako je prepoznati važnost istraživačkih podataka u svrhu njihove vidljivosti i distribucije odličan alat za razvoj znanosti i društva općenito, za smanjene troškova istraživanja, gdje je to moguće, i za povećanje suradnje između pojedinaca i institucija. Svrha je ovog rada objasniti osnovne pojmove te dati pregled definicija o istraživačkim podacima, objasniti otvoreni pristup i otvorene istraživačke podatke te analizirati rezultate istraživanja provedenog među zaposlenicima Instituta Ruđer Bošković o njihovim navikama i praksama upravljanja istraživačkim podacima koje prikupljaju u svojem radu. Metodologija: Odgovori su prikupljani metodom upitnika koji je poslan na sve djelatnike Instituta Ruđer Bošković, a za ispunjavanje je bio dostupan dva tjedna. Postavljenja su četiri istraživačka pitanja na teme prikupljanja i dijeljenje istraživačkih podataka, objavljivanja u otvorenom pristupu, o otvorenom pristupu istraživačkim podacima općenito o željenim i potrebnim edukacijama iz spektra tema o istraživačkim podacima. Rezultati: Odgovori o dijeljenju i pohranjivanju istraživačkih podataka razlikuju se obzirom na zavod i područje znanosti i/ili znanstvenih interesa zaposlenika Instituta. Iz rezultata je vidljivo da je znanje o pohranjivanju i arhiviranju podataka u otvorenom pristupu ograničeno i obilježeno strahom od dijeljenja sa širom zajednicom. Ipak, svi ispitanici zainteresirani su za dodatne edukacije o istraživačkim podacima i sigurnom dijeljenju te se u tome vidi želja za prevladavanjem i usklađivanja sa zahtjevima financijera i donositelja politika.

Abstract (english)

Aim: In international scientific and social circles, the issue of research data has been a current topic for the past ten years. Various foreign examples of providing support for research data management tell us that recognizing the importance of research data for the purpose of their visibility and distribution is an excellent tool for the development of science and society in general, for reduced research costs, where possible, and for increasing cooperation between individuals and institutions. The purpose of this paper is to explain the basic concepts and provide an overview of definitions of research data, explain open access and open research data and present the results of research conducted among employees of the Ruđer Bošković Institute on their habits and management practices of research data collected in their work. Methodology: The answers were collected using an online questionnaire that was sent to all employees of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, and was available for completion for two weeks. Four research questions were asked on the topics of collecting and sharing research data, publishing in open access, on open access to research data in general and desired and necessary trainings from the range of topics on research data. Results: Responses to the sharing and storage of research data differ according to the field of science and / or the scientific interests of the Institute's employees. The results show that knowledge about storing and archiving data in open access is limited and marked by fear of sharing with the wider community. However, all respondents are interested in additional education on research data and secure sharing, and this shows a desire to overcome both fears and possible ignorance
