Abstract

Ovaj rad definira pojam digitalnih medija i njihovih vrsta te pomoću istraživanja prikazuje kakvo je korištenje digitalnih medija na globalnoj razini i u Hrvatskoj. U kontekstu korištenja objasniti će se i fenomen second- screen korištenja, koji je danas vrlo specifičan kod korištenja digitalnih medija. Zatim će se navesti posljedice, koje su uzrokovane korištenjem digitalnih medija, a podijeljene su na fizičke, mentalne i psihičke te socio-ekonomske posljedice. Posljedice po fizičko zdravlje su pretilost i manjak kretanja, manjak i problemi sa spavanjem, posljedice po koštano – mišićni sustav, ali postoje i pozitivne strane. U kontekstu posljedica, spominje se njemački neuroznanstvenik i psihijatar Manfred Spitzera i njegov pojam digitalna demencija, koja je i prva posljedica korištenja digitalnih medija na psihičko zdravlje te se nadalje navode posljedice kao što su depresija, stres i posljedice po opće dobrostanje, agresivnost i manjak empatije, ovisnost te cyberbullying. Naposljetku, govori se o socio-ekonomskim posljedicama, kao što su manjak privatnosti, posljedice na radna mjesta te digitalno mračno doba.

Abstract (english)

This paper defines the concept of digital media and their types and uses research to show the use of digital media globally and in Croatia. In the context of use, the phenomenon of Second-screen use will be explained, which today is very specific in the use of digital media. It will then list the consequences, which are caused by the use of digital media, and are divided into physical, mental and psychological and socio-economic consequences. The consequences for physical health are obesity and the lack of movement, lack of and problems with sleeping, consequences for the musculoskeletal system, but there are also positive sides. In the context of the consequences, the German neuroscientist and psychiatrist Manfred Spitzer and his term digital dementia, which is the first consequence of the use of digital media on mental health, are mentioned, as well as consequences such as depression, stress and consequences for general well-being, addiction and cyberbullying. Finally, the socio-economic consequences, such as the lack of privacy, consequences for jobs and the digital dark age are discussed.
