Abstract

Rodno neutralan jezik i njegova upotreba sve je češća tema društvenih istraživanja. Poglavito se radi o objašnjavanju utjecaja faktora, poput sociodemografskih obilježja, dobi, spola, i slično, na upotrebu rodno neutralnog vokabulara. Međutim, malo koje istraživanje ispitalo je praktičan aspekt upotrebe takvog vokabulara. More anketnog upitnika. Od ispitanika je zatraženo da ispune tekst u kojemu su mogli sami odabrati koju će vrstu riječi napisati. Cilj je bio analizirati u kojoj su mjeri ispitanici izabrali upotrijebiti upravo rodno neutralnu zamjenicu hen. Rezultati su pokazali kako faktori poput religioznosti, razine seksizma i ekonomske orijentacije imaju učinak na sklonost upotrebi rodno neutrane zamjenice hen. Spol, dob, razina obrazovanja i razina autoritarnosti pokazale su se kao nevažne u odluci o upotrebi spomenute zamjenice. Drugim riječima, manje religiozne osobe, osobe u manjoj mjeri sklone seksističkom ponašanju te ekonomski socijalno orijetirane osobe sklonije su upotrijebiti rodno neutralnu zamjenicu hen. Less

Abstract (english)

Gender neutral language has been a growing interest of studies in social sciences. Their main aim is to explain the reasons behind the use of such language. Some of the factors used to explain using gender neutral language are: age, sex, sociodemographic characteristics and others. However, not many research was conducted while also testing the practical usage of gender neutral vocabulary. Respondents were asked to fill in a text using any word that first comes to mind. The aim was to get a deeper look as to what extent was the gender neutral pronoun used. Results showed that factors such as religiosity, the level of sexism and the economical orientation had an impact on the usage of the pronoun. Sex, age, the level of education as well as the level of authoritatianism showed to have no impact on the usage of the pronoun. In other words, less religious people, people who showed less tendencies towards sexist behaviour as well as economically socialist people are more inclined to use the gender neutral pronoun hen.
