Abstract

Neohelenistički pokret (tur. Nev-Yunanilik ili Havza edebiyatı) književni je pokret u turskoj književnosti koji traje od 1912. godine do 1982. godine i koji kao ishodišnu točku za usvajanje novih aspekata kulture uzima antičke izvore. Neohelenistički pokret osnovali su Yahya Kemal Beyatlı i Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu) 1912. godine, a moguće ga je pratiti kroz dvije faze: proeuropski neohelenizam (Yahya Kemal Beyatlı i Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu) i anadolski humanizam (Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, Azra Erhat, Sabahattin Eyüboğlu). Ideja neohelenizma u prvoj fazi bila je osvijestiti potrebu za prepoznavanjem antičke kulture na temelju koje se Europa reformirala u humanizmu, a u drugoj fazi stvoriti diskurs koji promovira ideju da Anadolija i Turci pripadaju mediteranskom kulturnom krugu na kojemu je počela i starogrčka civilizacija. Humanističke ideje Yahye Kemala i Yakupa Kadrija, dakle, padaju pod utjecaj nacionalizma i kemalizma sredinom 20. stoljeća. Jednim od konačnih ciljeva ovog pokreta smatramo i pozapađenje, koje je i desetljećima prije jedna od glavnih aspiracija osmanskog intelektualnog sloja.

Abstract (english)

The neohellenistic movement (1912. - 1982.) is a modern Turkish literary movement which takes ancient Greek sources as the starting point for adopting new aspects of culture. The movement was founded by Yahya Kemal Beyatlı and Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu in 1912 and can be looked at through two main phases: the pro-European neohellenism (Yahya Kemal and Yakup Kadri) and Anatolian humanism (Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, Azra Erhat, Sabahattin Eyüboğlu). The neohellenistic movement does not only include the examination of the impact of the ancient Greek culture to modern Turkish culture, but also the impact of the Mediterranean as a geographical unity. The main scope of this movement in its first phase was to point out that reforms based on the classical period should take place, same as in Europe during humanism, while the scope of the second phase was to create an idea that both Anatolia and Turks belong to the same cultural area which produced the classical Greek civilization. The idea of neohellenism was to point out the fact that Anatolia and the Turks belong to the same Mediterranean area which gave rise to the ancient Greek civilization. Rather humanistic approach started by Yahya Kemal in 1912 was meddled with when the movement reached its second phase - the Anatolian humanism, which was under strong influence of kemalism. One of the main scopes of the movement was westernization as well, which was the main aspiration of the Ottoman intellectuals in the preceding decades as well.
