Abstract

Immanuel Kant, jedan od najvećih filozofa svih vremena koji je svoj doprinos ostavio u svim kutevima filozofije, svoj filozofski sustav započinje graditi u jeku prosvjetiteljskih strujanja u Europi. U istom se periodu narod Francuske počeo buniti protiv apsolutističke vlasti svoga kralja što eskalira padom Bastille 14. srpnja 1789. godine. More prema Kantovim spisima jasno je da je Kant veličao Francusku revoluciju – posebno događaje koji su označavali njezin početak. Cilj je ovog rada istražiti Kantove razloge za strogo protivljenje građanskoj pobuni s jedne strane i zagovaranje pobune francuskog građanstva s kraja 18. stoljeća s druge strane. S obzirom na suptilnost i hermetičnost Kantovih tekstova, potrebno je vidjeti je li Kantovo odobravanje Francuske revolucije interpretativno uvjetovano ili je ipak moguće naći preciznije i eksplicitnije stavove. Uz to, ovaj rad će istražiti i kakvu ulogu igra razdoblje prosvjetiteljstva, kako za Kantovu filozofiju, tako i za Francusku revoluciju. Less

Abstract (english)

Immanuel Kant, one of the greatest philosophers of all time who left his contribution in all corners of philosophy, began building his philosophical system in the wake of the Enlightenment currents in Europe. In the same period, the people of France began to rebel against the absolutist rule of their king, which escalated with the fall of the Bastille on July 14, 1789. Nevertheless, in Kant's writings, sometimes more and sometimes less subtly, it is clear that Kant glorified the French Revolution - especially the events that marked its beginning. The aim of this paper is to investigate Kant's reasons for his strict opposition to civil rebellion on the one hand and his advocacy of the rebellion of the French citizens at the end of the 18th century on the other. Considering the subtlety and hermeticity of Kant's texts, it is necessary to see whether Kant's approval of the French Revolution is conditional on interpretation or whether it is still possible to find more precise and explicit attitudes. In addition, this paper will also investigate what role the Enlightenment period plays, both for Kant's philosophy and for the French Revolution. Less
