Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje političku traumu i društveno otuđenje u Republici Turskoj nakon vojnog memoranduma od 12. ožujka 1971. godine na primjeru romana Bir Düğün Gecesi autorice Adalet Ağaoğlu. Kroz teorijski okvir političkog romana, rad analizira Ağaoğluinu kritiku društva, s posebnim osvrtom na kritiku ljevičarskog pokreta i otuđenje pojedinca. Za razliku od klasičnog romana o vojnom udaru, koji se često fokusira na prikaz represivnog iskustva ljevičarskog protagonista, Ağaoğluin roman dublje preispituje razloge neuspjeha ljevičarskog pokreta. Posebna pažnja posvećena je inovativnim narativnim tehnikama, poput autonomnog unutarnjeg monologa. Kroz analizu ovih aspekata, rad pokazuje kako je autorica svojim pristupom nadmašila žanrovske okvire romana o vojnom udaru, pozicionirajući se kao pionirka turskog (post)modernizma i stekla značajno mjesto u kanonu turske književnosti.

Abstract (english)

This thesis explores political trauma and social alienation through the example of the novel Bir Düğün Gecesi by Adalet Ağaoğlu. Within the theoretical framework of the political novel, the thesis analyses Ağaoğlu’s critique of society, with a particular emphasis on the critique of the leftist movement and the alienation of the individual. Unlike the classic March 12 novel, which often centers on portraying the repressive experience of a leftist protagonist, Ağaoğlu’s novel delves deeper into the reasons behind the failure of the leftist movement. Special attention is given to innovative narrative techniques, such as the autonomous inner monologue. Through the analysis of these aspects, the thesis demonstrates how the author, through her approach, transcended the genre boundaries of the March 12 novel, positioning herself as a Pioneer of Turkish (post)modernism and securing a significant place in the canon of Turkish literature.
