Abstract

Diplomski rad analizira poloņaj ņena u postsocijalistiĉkoj patrijarhalnoj kulturi i njezinu reprezentaciju u odabranim romanima iz hrvatske i poljske knjiņevnosti. Analiza se temelji na izabranim romanima, a to su: Ljubavni roman (Ivana Sajko), Ljubav na posljednji pogled (Vedrana Rudan), Kobieta i mężczyźni (Manuela Gretkowska), Żona Adama (Monika Rakusa. Analiza se odnosi na promjene koje su zahvatile druńtvo za vrijeme postsocijalizma te kako su se ņene u njemu snańle, na poloņaj ņena u patrijarhatu, odnosno njihov podreĊen poloņaj odnosu na muńkarce koji predstavljaju moćniji spol/rod. Analiza pokazuje specifiĉne probleme ņena u postsocijalistiĉkoj patrijarhalnoj kulturi, kako su one taj spol/rod nad kojim onaj drugi ima nadmoć. Muńkarci svoju nadmoć pokazuju već samom biologijom. Uz to, muńkarci imaju bolju mogućnost zaposlenja, veće plaće, a nerijetko su oni ti koji vrńe fiziĉko, psihiĉko ili ĉak ekonomsko nasilje. Dok muńkarcima pripadaju pojmovi javno i kultura, ņene su te od kojih se oĉekuje da zbog svoje prirode postaju majke i zauzmu privatnu sferu. Navedene pretpostavke potvrdila je i sama analiza spomenutih romana iz hrvatske i poljske knjiņevnosti.

Abstract (english)

This master's thesis analyzes the position of women in the post-socialist patriarchal culture and its representation in selected novels in Croatian and Polish literature. The analysis is based on selected novels, such as: Ljubavni roman (Ivana Sajko), Ljubav na posljednji pogled (Vedrana Rudan), Kobieta i mężczyźni (Manuela Gretkowska), Żona Adama (Monika Rakusa). The analysis refers to the changes that affected the society during post-socialism and women in it. It also referst to the position of women in the patriarchy, or their subordinate position in relation to men who represent the more powerful gender. The analysis shows the specific problems of women in the post-socialist patriarchal culture, as they are the gender over which the other has supremacy. Men show their power through biology itself, but also through the better employment, bigger salaries, through the violence – physically, mentally or economically. While men are part of public and cultural concepts, women are expected to become mothers by nature and take up the private sphere. The aforementioned assumptions have been confirmed by the analysis of mentioned novels in Croatian and Polish literature.
