Abstract

Valjano razumijevanje Kantove doktrine transcendentalnog objekta je ključno za razumijevanje same prirode kritičke filozofije. Transcendentalni objekt se ne može poistovjetiti sa stvari po sebi niti se treba smatrati samo subjektivnim elementom znanja. Nemamo pravo reificirati ‘objekt’ koji odgovara pojavi iako smo prisiljeni pomišljati nešto što je u podlozi njene predodžbe budući da pojam osjetilne pojave logično uključuje pojam nečega što se pojavljuje. Određene karakteristike takvog predmeta ne možemo misliti, pa on ostaje puka misao objekta, dovoljno široka da obuhvati bilo koji mogući objekt suđenja. Stoga moramo upotrijebiti pojam objekta uopće kada mislimo na objekt osjetilne predodžbe. Međutim, ovaj izraz 'nešto uopće’ se odnosi na pojam, a ne na objekt. Moglo bi se reći da pojam transcendentalnog objekta uzrokuje pojave u smislu da je nužan uvjet za nešto što je pojava jer nameće jedinstvo sintezi mnogostrukog.

Abstract (english)

A valid understanding of Kant's doctrine of the transcendental object is essential in order to understand the very nature of critical philosophy. The transcendental object cannot be identified with things in themselves, nor should it be considered only as a subjective element of knowledge. We do not have the right to reify the 'object' that corresponds to the phenomenon, even though we are forced to think of something that underlies its representation, since the concept of a sensory phenomenon logically includes the concept of something that appears. We cannot think certain characteristics of such an object, so it remains a mere thought of an object, broad enough to encompass any possible object of reasoning. Therefore, we have to use the term object in general when we mean the object of a sensory representation. However, this term 'anything at all' refers to a concept, not an object. One could say that the notion of the transcendental object causes appearances in the sense that it is a necessary condition for something to be an appearance because it imposes the unity of the synthesis of the manifold.
