| Abstract | Filozofija mode još je uvijek neistraženo područje u filozofiji. Filozofi modu obično nisu smatrali vrijednom svojega interesa. O modi se najčešće pisalo iz sociološkoga stajališta, pa tako prva ozbiljnija razmatranja mode nalazimo u radovima sociologa Georga Simmela i Thorsteina Veblena. Razlog zanemarivanja mode među filozofima jest taj što se moda često poistovjećuje s odjećom, odnosno vanjskim materijalnim predmetima. Sve dok je fokus na vanjskim objektima, nećemo doći do dvije temeljne biti mode, a to su novost i promjena. Razdvajanjem mode na koncept i fenomen dolazimo do shvaćanja mode kao sveobuhvatnog društvenog mehanizma koji se očituje, ne samo u odjeći, već i u umjetnosti, dizajnu, arhitekturi, zabavi i svakodnevnici. Moda je izrazito moderan fenomen, povezujemo je s pojavom modernosti kao razdoblja koje obilježava prekid s tradicijom i običajima. Nastala je na Zapadu pojavom industrijskog kapitalizma, a nakon toga nezaustavljivo se razvijala i proširila na čitav svijet. Danas smo „uronjeni“ u modu, moda je ušla u sve pore društva te je, svojom logikom brze promjene i stalne potrage za novim, sve zahvatila. Razvoj mode pratio je razvoj identiteta pojedinca. Danas, kada je tijelo oslobođeno svih stega prirode, društva i kulture svatko može sudjelovati u tome, kako kaže Gill Lipovetsky, „carstvu prolaznoga“ te kreirati svoj životni stil i osobnost. U sklopu postmodernističkih teorija mode (Gilles Lipovetsky, Jean Baudrillard) vidjet ćemo, kroz pojmove antimoda i dekonstrukcija mode, postoji li kraj ili smrt mode, koja je njezina sudbina u doba sverastuće tehnosfere, hoće li ona uništiti samu sebe ili će zauvijek postojati kao neka nevidljiva sila koja sve pokreće. |
| Abstract (english) | The philosophy of fashion is still an under-researched area of philosophy. Philosophers have not usually considered fashion worthy of their interest. Fashion has mostly been studied from a sociological perspective, so that first more serious analyses of fashion can be found in the works of sociologists Georg Simmel and Thorstein Veblen. The reason why philosophers have neglected fashion lies in its wide identification with clothing, i.e. external, material objects. Unless the focus shifts away from external objects, we cannot grasp the two fundamental components of fashion – novelty and change. By breaking it up into a concept and a phenomenon, we can understand fashion as a comprehensive social mechanism that manifests itself not only in clothing, but also in art, design, architecture, entertainment and everyday life. Fashion is a remarkably modern phenomenon; it is related to the emergence of modernity as a period that marks a break from tradition and customs. Fashion was born in the West with the rise of industrial capitalism, after which it has unstoppably expanded and spread throughout the world. Today we are immersed in fashion; it has seeped into all pores of society, and captured everything into its logic of rapid change and constant quest for novelty. Development of fashion has run hand in hand with the development of an individual’s identity. Nowadays, when body is free(d) from all shackles of nature, society and culture, anyone can take their part in this “empire of the ephemeral”, as Gilles Lipovetsky puts it, and create their own lifestyle and personality. From the perspective of postmodern theory of fashion (Gilles Lipovetsky, Jean Baudrillard), and the concepts of anti-fashion and deconstruction of fashion, we shall explore if there is the end to, or the death of fashion, what is its fate in the era of all-consuming technosphere, and whether it will destroy itself or continue to exist forever as an invisible driving force. |
