Abstract

Nevelik, ali upečatljiv opus ekspresionista Slavka Gruma u ovom je radu analiziran s posebnim naglaskom na elemente groteske u njegovim dramskim i proznim djelima. Nakon uvodnog dijela, u kojem su ukratko predstavljene književno-povijesne okolnosti Grumova stvaralaštva, slijedi analiza kojoj su u središtu elementi groteske i modusi njezina pojavljivanja, i to na razini motiva, prostora, likova, pripovjedača. U tom se smislu prate promjene i pronalaze sličnosti u Grumovu opusu. Neobični likovi i nesvakidašnje situacije u neprirodnim ili natprirodnim okolnostima jedan su vid groteske ovog opusa. S druge strane, uznemirujući dijalozi ili monolozi te sveprisutna tjeskobnost i otuđenost čine ostatak onoga što se kroz analizu karakterizira grotesknim u Grumovoj poetici. Uzimajući u obzir onodobne tendencije, u završnom su dijelu sumirani rezultati istraživanja uloge groteske u poetici Slavka Gruma.

Abstract (english)

Rather small but striking work of the expressionist Slavko Grum is analyzed in this paper with special emphasis on the elements of the grotesque in his dramatic and prose works. After the introductory part, in which the literary-historical circumstances of Grum's work are briefly presented, an analysis follows, focusing on the elements of the grotesque and modes of its appearance, at the level of motifs, spaces, characters, narrators. In this sense, changes are monitored and similarities are found in Grum's opus. Unusual characters and unusual situations in unnatural or supernatural circumstances are one aspect of grotesque in this opus. On the other hand, disturbing dialogues or monologues and the omnipresent anxiety and alienation make the rest of what is characterized as grotesque in Grum's poetics through the analysis. Taking into account temporal tendencies, the final part summarizes the results of the research on the role of grotesque in the poetics of Slavko Grum.
