Abstract

U ovom se diplomskom radu istražuju folklorni elementi predstave Črna mati zemla nastale prema romanu književnika Kristiana Novaka, a u režiji Dore Ruždjak u Zagrebačkom kazalištu mladih. Folklorni elementi u predstavi se jednim dijelom razlikuju od onih u romanu (ne samo zbog izvedbene naravi nego i načinima na koje su povezivani) pa je za ovaj rad nužno komparirati načine na koji su folklorni elementi upisani u roman i načine na koji se koriste, preoblikuju, aktualiziraju u izvedbi. Izvore za analizu i interpretaciju navedenih elemenata predstavlja romaneskni predložak, njegova dramska adaptacija i video snimke predstave. U rad se uključuju temeljni teatrološki i folkloristički pojmovi, Pavisovo terminološko nazivlje, napose metajezik intertekstualne i interdiskurzivne stilistike (npr. Juvan, Ryznar), kao i spoznaje stečene proučavanjem odnosa hrvatske tradicijske kulture i pisane književnosti. Folklorni su elementi u obama medijima važne sastavnice gradbe značenja djela, a to se u ovom interdisciplinarnom radu pokušava dokazati njihovom analizom i interpretacijom, ali i smještajem kako u kontekst djela, tako i u društveni kontekst.

Abstract (english)

This thesis paper studies elements of folklore in the play Črna Mati Zemla, based on the novel by Kristian Novak and directed by Dora Ruždjak at the Zagreb Youth Theatre. In some aspects, these elements of folklore differ from those present in the novel (not only due to the performatory nature of the play but also the way in which these elements are interlinked). For that reason a comparative method of analysis is adopted in order to identify the methods of inscribing these elements of folklore into the novel, as well as to determine how they are used, reshaped and executed in the stage performance. Novak's novel, its theatrical adaptation and video recordings of the live performance serve as the basis for this analysis. The paper includes fundamental theatrological and folkloristic concepts, Patrice Pavis's technical terminology, primarily the metalanguage of intertextual and interdiscursive stylistics (as present in the works of Juvan, Ryznar), as well as the insights gathered from the study of Croatian traditional culture and written literature. By way of analyzing, interpreting, and contextualizing the elements of folklore with regard to their role in not only the novel and play but also a wider social framework, this interdisciplinary paper aims to prove that the elements of folklore are vital to constructing meaning in both works belonging to their respective mediums.
