Abstract

Diplomski rad „Fregeovo načelo kontekstualnosti u kontekstu suvremenih jezičnih tehnologija“ prikazuje jedno od najvažnijih teorijskih postignuća njemačkog filozofa i matematičara Gottloba Fregea – načelo kontekstualnosti u svjetlu novih tehnologija za obradu prirodnog jezika napose Googleove tehnologije BERT. Rad ispituje koliko je načelo kontekstualnosti danas aktualno, primjenjivo te do kolike mjere ga je moguće prepoznati u najnovijim sustavima za obradu prirodnog jezika današnjice. Autor zaključuje da Google BERT, iako je nastao bez jasnih utjecaja Gottloba Fregea i njegova načela kontekstualnosti, počiva na jako bliskim teorijskim postavkama koje je Frege isticao još s prelaska devetnaestog na dvadeseto stoljeće. Prije svega, radi se o kontekstu koji je neizmjerno bitan kako za funkcioniranje tehnologije BERT tako i za Fregeovo načelo kontekstualnosti.

Abstract (english)

The thesis "Frege's contextuality principle in the context of modern language processing technologies" shows one of the most important theoretical achievements of the German philosopher and mathematician Gottlob Frege - the contextuality principle in the light of new technologies for natural language processing, especially Google's BERT technology. The paper examines how applicable the principle of contextuality is today, and to what extent it can be recognized in the latest natural language processing systems of today. The author concludes that Google BERT, although created without the clear influences of Gottlob Frege and his principles of contextuality, rests on very close theoretical assumptions that Frege emphasized as early as the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Most importantly, it is a context that is immensely important both for the functioning of BERT technology and for Frege's principle of contextuality.
