Abstract

Unutar svog filozofskog opusa filozof Karl Popper bavio se raznim filozofskim područjima poput: logike, filozofije uma, filozofije znanosti, ontologije, epistemologije, filozofije politike, itd. Jedna od tema koju autor nikada nije učinio glavnim predmetom svojih djela je filozofija odgoja, iako se tematika odgoja pojavljuje na mnogim mjestima unutar njegovog opusa te je u mnogim slučajevima usko vezana uz glavnu tematiku. Filozofska disciplina po kojoj je Popper postao značajan je filozofija znanosti, koju ćemo obraditi kao jedan od glavnih utjecaja na Popperovu filozofiju odgoja. Uz filozofiju znanosti, obraditi ćemo i Popperovu filozofiju odgoja, koju ćemo eksplicirati iz njegovih djela, te pokazati način na koji je filozofija znanosti utjecala na nju. Primarno ćemo se poslužiti njegovim djelima i sekundarnom literaturom, što uključuje intervjue, akademske časopise i knjige autora koji su već povezivali Popperovu filozofiju sa odgojem i obrazovanjem. Cilj ovoga rada bit će eksplicirati značajne koncepte Popperove filozofije vezane uz odgoj i obrazovanje iz njegovog opusa kako bismo došli do jasnije slike Popperovih stavova o funkciji obrazovanja i procesu učenja te vidjeti na koji je način njegova filozofija znanosti utjecala na njegovu filozofiju odgoja.

Abstract (english)

In his philosophical oeuvre, philosopher Karl Popper discussed various philosophical branches, such as: logic, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, ontology, epistemology, philosophy of politics, etc. One of the topics which the author never made the main subject of his works is the philosophy of education. Education, however, appears in many of his works and is in many cases closely related to the main subject. The philosophical discipline which made Popper significant is the philosophy of science, which will be covered in this paper as one of the major influences on Popper’s philosophy of education. In addition to the philosophy of science, Popper's philosophy of education will also be discussed. It will be extracted from his works, and an attempt will be made to showcase the extent to which it was influenced by the philosophy of science. We will primarily use Popper's own works, alongside secondary literature, including interviews, academic journals, and books by authors who have already made the connection between Popper’s philosophy and education. The aim of this paper will be to explain the prominent concepts of Popper's philosophy from his oeuvre related to education in order to get a clearer picture of Popper's views on the function of education and the learning process, and to understand how his philosophy of science influenced his philosophy of education.
