Abstract

U doba bjesomučnog kolanja informacija teško je odrediti koje su informacije točne, a koje netočne. Borba protiv pandemije bolesti COVID-19 uzrokovane novim koronavirusom SARS-CoV-2 početkom 2020. nagnala je stanovništvo diljem svijeta da veliki broj aktivnosti prebaci online, a u takvim su se okolnostima dezinformacije širile brže nego ikada prije. Uz epidemiju COVID-19, pojavila se i infodemija, pandemija lažnih informacija. Ovaj rad, osim što daje teorijski pogled na pojam infodemije, istražuje kako je početkom 2020. došlo do pojave dezinformacija, kako su se one širile te koliki je bio njihov utjecaj. Metode kojim se autor služi su: praćenje citata članaka s lažnim informacijama, kako bi se pronašao njihov izvor, te njihova klasifikacija s obzirom na nastanak i cilj. Također, autor se bavi i teorijskim istraživanjem fenomena koji su doveli do infodemije. Na kraju rada autor daje nekoliko savjeta za sprječavanje širenja dezinformacija.

Abstract (english)

In an age of frantic circulation of information, it is difficult to determine which information is accurate and which is incorrect. The fight against the COVID-19 disease pandemic was caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in early 2020. It has prompted people around the world to switch a large number of activities to the network, and in such circumstances, disinformation is spreading faster than ever before. Along with the COVID-19 epidemic, there was also an infodemic, a pandemic of false information. This paper, in addition to giving a theoretical view of the concept of infodemic, explores how misinformation occurred in early 2020, how it spread and how much of an impact it had. Methods used by the author: tracking citations of articles with false information, to find their source, and their classification according to the origin and goal. Also, the author deals with the theoretical research of the phenomena that led to infodemic. At the end of the paper, the author gives some tips to prevent the spread of misinformation.
