Abstract

Rad je koncipiran kao pregled prostora stripa kao forme te potencijala istoga za komunikaciju sa društvenom strukturom unutar koje se proizvodi i konzumira kroz pregled povijesnog razvoja, društvene pozicije, konstrukcijskih elemenata same forme te analizu nekoliko serijala i njihovih televizijskih adaptacija unutar okvira jednog društvenog pojma, u ovome slučaju marginalnog identiteta. Marginalni identitet je identitet označen elementom koji onemogućava puni potencijal djelovanja unutar društva u kojemu se nalazi no nije nužno vrijednosno-normativno označen kao negativan. Unutar rada prikazan je povijesni pregled razvoja stripa sa naglaskom na stripu zapadnjačke kulture. Primarni fokus rada stavljen je na žanr superjunačkog stripa iz prostora popularne kulture te utjecaj i komunikaciju istoga sa drugim relevantnijim kulturnim prostorima popularne kulture. Vizualni i tekstualni elementi stripa analizirani su kao funkcijom srodni elementima književnosti gdje vizualni elementi preuzimaju funkciju niza gradivnih elemenata književnosti. Superjunački likovi korišteni za analizu su analizirani unutar okvira sociologije književnosti kroz promatranje odnosa pripisanog identiteta likova i fikcionalnog svijetu kojemu se nalaze. Naglasak je stavljen na formaciju likova temeljenih na marginalnom identitetu te kulturnih vrijednosti i normi koje su bile uključene u izgradnju fikcionalnih svjetova unutar kojih serijali postoje. Analiza uključuje i analizu adaptacija istih likova u formu televizijskih serija što otvara prostor analizi adaptacije strukturnih elemenata stripa u nove forme te izmjene u društvenim vrijednostima i normama koje su uključene u fikcionalni svijet unutar kojega serije postoje.

Abstract (english)

The paper is conceived as an overview of comics as a form and its potential for communication with the social structure from which it is produced and within which it is consumed through an overview of its historical development, social position, construction elements of the form and an analysis of several comic book series and their television adaptations within the framework of a singular social concept, in this case marginal identity. Marginal identity is an identity marked by an element that restricts the full potential of action within the society in which it is located, but is not necessarily perceived as negative in social value or as opposing to existing social norms. Within the paper, a historical overview of the development of comic books is presented with an emphasis on Western culture comic books. The primary focus of the paper is on the genre of superhero comics produced within popular culture and its influence and communication with other relevant areas of popular culture. The visual and textual elements of comics are analysed as a function akin to the elements of literature where the visual elements take over the function of narrative and descriptive elements in literature. The superhero characters used in the analysis are analysed within the framework of sociology of literature through observation of the relationship constructed between the attributed identity of the characters and the fictional worlds in which they find themselves. Emphasis was placed on the formation of characters based on marginal identity and the cultural values and norms that were involved in building the fictional worlds within which the series exists. The analysis also includes a discussion on adaptations of the same characters in the form of television series, which opens up space for analysis of adaptation based on the structural elements found in comics into new forms but also changes in social values and norms included in the fictional worlds within which the series exist.
