Abstract

Digitalno arhiviranje je očuvanje digitalnih materijala koje neka tvrtka ili osoba treba sačuvati na duže vremensko razdoblje. Njime se omogućuje lakše sustavno pretraživanje arhiviranih podataka. Sustavi namijenjeni digitalnom arhiviranju pohranjuju zbirke digitalnih podataka poput dokumenta, zapisa, ali i video zapisa, slika, itd. u digitalnom formatu s namjerom dugoročnog pristupa. Digitalni arhiv može biti složena zbirka s višeslojnim sustavom za pohranu (npr. hijerarhijski sustav) ili se može nalaziti na sustavu s direktnim pristupom. U ovom radu će se pobliže pojasniti neka osnovna pitanja vezana uz digitalno arhiviranje i dugoročno očuvanje, analizirati sustave „Archivematica“ i „Preservica“ te usporediti njihove bitne karakteristike i svojstva kako bi se pobliže moglo pojasniti i predstaviti rad takvih sustava.

Abstract (english)

Digital archiving is the preservation of digital materials that a company or person needs to preserve for a longer period of time. It makes it easier to systematically search archived data. Systems intended for digital archiving store collections of digital data such as documents, records, but also videos, images, etc. in digital format with the intention of long-term access. A digital archive can be a complex collection with a multi-layered storage system (e.g. a hierarchical system) or it can be located on a direct access system. This thesis discusses some basic issues related to digital archiving and long-term preservation, analyzes the systems "Archivematica" and "Preservica" and compares their important characteristics and properties in order to clarify and present the work of such systems.
