Abstract

Distopija je već godinama popularan žanr, prisutan u književnosti i drugim medijima poput filma, od dvadesetog stoljeća. Distopijski se žanr proširio u mnogim zemljama pa tako i u Švedskoj. U ovom se radu analiziraju i uspoređuju distopijski elementi u dva švedska djela - romanu Karin Boye Kallocain (1940.) te filmu redateljice Pelle Kågerman i redatelja Huga Lilje Aniara (2018.). U prvom dijelu opisuje se pojam distopije u odnosu na utopiju te određene značajke distopijske fikcije. Potom slijedi analiza distopijskih elemenata u romanu Kallocain, pri čemu se najviše koriste zapažanja autorice Sare Ljungquist. Nakon toga slijedi analiza distopijskih elemenata u filmu Aniara te usporedba s Kallocainom. Distopijska budućnost u ova dva djela prikazana je na različit način, no među njima postoji i mnogo dodirnih točaka, a prije svega to je poruka upozorenja svojim čitateljima, odnosno gledateljima, o mračnoj budućnosti koju treba izbjeći poduzimajući ispravne korake u sadašnjosti.

Abstract (english)

Dystopia has been a popular genre for years, present in both literature and other media such as film, since the twentieth century. The dystopian genre has spread in many different countries, including Sweden. This work analyses and compares the dystopian elements in two Swedish works – Karin Boye's novel Kallocain (1940) and the movie Aniara (2018), directed by Pella Kågerman and Hugo Lilja. In the first part of the work the notion of dystopia is described as well as some characteristics of dystopian fiction. This is followed by an analysis of the dystopian elements in the novel Kallocain, which mostly uses author Sarah Ljungquist's observations. After that, an analysis of the dystopian elements in the movie Aniara and its comparison with Kallocain follows. The dystopian future in these two works is depicted in a different way, however, there are many colliding points between them as well, first and foremost being the warning message to their readers and viewers, about the dark future which needs to be avoided by taking the right steps in the present.
