Abstract

Internet je danas vrlo drugačije mjesto od originalnog interneta. Korisnici dolaze iz raznih pozadina, očekuju više nego prije, a sadržaj se prikazuje na ekranima s mnogo različitih veličina. U ovom radu opisani su neki važni praktični elementi web dizajna – od pravilnog formatiranja HTML-a i dobrog odabira fonta sve do pristupačnosti i prilagodljivog web-dizajna. U ovom radu postupak dizajniranja i izrade web-stranice razdvojen je na manje dijelove, i svaki od tih dijelova detaljnije je opisan. Opisana je i dobra praksa pri izradi svakog od tih dijelova, s povremenim ilustracijama dobrih ili loših primjera. Naravno, web-stranice nisu nešto što se samo napravi i pusti u rad, nego ih se mora i održavati, tako da je dio rada posvećen tome kako pisati održivi kod. Cilj rada je upoznavanje drugih s onim što je potrebno da web-stranica bude kvalitetna.

Abstract (english)

The Internet is a very different place today from when it was invented. Its users come from many different backgrounds, they expect more than they have in the past, and content gets displayed on screens with many different resolutions and ratios. This bachelor’s thesis describes some important practical elements of web design – from correctly formatting HTML and picking a good font, to accessibility and responsive design. In this work the process of designing and building a website is separated into smaller parts, and each of those parts is described in more detail. Good practice in building those parts is described as well, with occasional examples, both good and bad. Of course, websites are not something that can be built and forgotten; they need to be maintained. That is why a part of this thesis describes how to write maintainable code. The end goal of this thesis is an introduction into what is necessary in order to make a quality website.
