Abstract

Ovaj rad obrađuje odnose Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva i SFRJ između 1967. i 1974. godine s posebnim osvrtom na odnose između UK i SR Hrvatske. U spomenutom periodu vidljiv je povećan interes UK prema Jugoslaviji. Rezultat je to povećanog fokusa Britanije na Europu na prijelazu desetljeća. UK je u Jugoslaviji bilo prisutno posredstvom ambasade, a u SRH su postojali konzulati u Zagrebu i Splitu te ured British Councila kao ureda za širenje britanske kulture u stranim zemljama. U radu je obrađen rast trgovinske razmjene i ekonomski odnosi između dvaju zemalja. Također, u radu se nalaze analize najvažnijih posjeta britanskih dužnosnika u SR Hrvatsku te analiza političkih odnosa UK i SFRJ. Drugi dio rada posvećen je suradnji na poljima kulture te obrazovanja, a posljednje poglavlje analize bavi se razvojem turizma u Hrvatskoj i rastom broja britanskih turista na jadranskoj obali. Sažetak donosi sumirane odnose dvaju zemalja s najistaknutijim odrednicama.

Abstract (english)

This work deals with the relations between the United Kingdom and the SFRY between 1967 and 1974, with special reference to the relations between the UK and the SR Croatia. In the mentioned period, the increased interest of the UK towards Yugoslavia is visible. This is the result of Britain's increased focus on Europe at the turn of the decade. The UK was present in Yugoslavia through the embassy, and in SR Croatia there were consulates in Zagreb and Split and the office of the British Council as an office for spreading British culture in foreign countries. The work deals with the growth of trade and economic relations between the two countries. Also, the work analyzes the most important visits of British officials to SR Croatia and contains an analysis of political relations between the UK and SFRY. The second part of the paper is dedicated to cooperation in the fields of culture and education, and the last chapter of the analysis deals with the development of tourism in Croatia and the growth of the number of British tourists on the Adriatic coast. The summary summarizes the relations between the two countries with the most prominent determinants.
