Abstract

Grad Dubrovnik, jedna od najvažnijih turističkih destinacija, bogat je kulturnim naslijeđem koje se isprepliće s modernim životom. Također dom je brojnim muzejima koji predstavljaju povijesno nasljeđe Dubrovnika i stare Dubrovačke Republike. Uloga muzeja s vremenom se proširila, prelazeći iz tradicionalnih čuvara artefakata u dinamične institucije koje aktivno sudjeluju u društvenom, obrazovnom i ekonomskom životu zajednice. Brojnim radionicama, obrazovnim programima, manifestacijama i sličnim događanjima muzeji omogućuju društvu aktivno sudjelovanje u kulturnom životu grada i županije. Cilj je ovog rada analizirati na koji način Dubrovački muzeji primjenjuju suvremene muzeološke trendove. Analizom Izvješća procijeniti će se koliko učinkovito Dubrovački muzeji ispunjavaju svoju društvenu ulogu u skladu s teorijskim okvirom o društvenoj funkciji muzeja. Posebna pažnja posvećena je suradnji s obrazovnim institucijama, mladim umjetnicima, manjinskim zajednicama te starijom populacijom. Ovim istaživanjem potvrđuje se da muzeji uspješno usklađuju očuvanje kulturne baštine s prilagodbom na suvremene društvene izazove. No postoji prostor za daljnji razvoj i unapređenje u određenim segmentima kako bi dodatno ojačali svoj utjecaj u lokalnoj zajednici.

Abstract (english)

The city of Dubrovnik, as one of the most important tourist destinations, is rich in cultural heritage that intertwines with modern life. It is also home to numerous museums that exhibit the cultural legacy of Dubrovnik and the old Republic of Dubrovnik. Over time, the role of museums has expanded, evolving from traditional guardians of artifacts into dynamic institutions that actively participate in the social, educational, and economic life of the community. Through various workshops, educational programs, events, and similar activities, museums enable the public to engage actively in the cultural life of the city and the region. The aim of this paper is to analyze how Dubrovnik Museums are applying contemporary museological trends. By analyzing reports, the effectiveness of Dubrovnik Museums in fulfilling their social role will be assessed, in accordance with the theoretical framework on the social function of museums. Special attention is given to cooperation with educational institutions, young artists, minority communities, and the elderly population. The conclusion of the paper is that Dubrovnik Museums successfully balance the preservation of cultural heritage with adaptation to contemporary social challenges. However, there is room for further development and improvement in certain areas to strengthen their impact on the local community.
