Abstract

Trap je relativno novi glazbeni pravac koji sluša sve veći broj mladih u Hrvatskoj. Tome
svjedoče veliki odazivi mladih na trap koncertie i festivale, kao i velika slušanost trapa na
streaming platformama poput Spotifyja i Deezera. Trap se razvio na jugu SAD-a te je
podžanr hip hop glazbe. U Hrvatskoj, početak razvoja trap glazbe vezujemo za rane 2010-te,
a prvi poznatiji izvođači su: Kiša metaka, High5 i Kukus. Istraživač u ovom radu,
insajderskom etnografijom i korištenjem metoda promatranja sa sudjelovanjem,
polustrukturiranog intervjua te refleksivne tematske analize, analizira i razmatra trap u
Zagrebu. U prvom dijelu rada, istraživač definira trap glazbu te razmatra relevantnost ove
teme, u drugom dijelu rada navode se ključni supkulturni i postsupkulturni teorijski koncepti
te metodologija provedbe istraživanja. U središnjem dijelu rada prikazani su rezultati
provedenog istraživanja, dok se u poglavljima Rasprava i Zaključak povezuju relevantni
teorijski koncepti s rezultatima istraživanja te istraživač odgovara na istraživačko pitanje koje
se temelji na primjenjivosti postsupkulturnih koncepata na trap u Zagrebu. Ključni koncepti
supkulturalizma poput klase i otpora pokazali su se nedovoljno relevantnim kod trepera.
Istraživanje je pokazalo primjenjivost postsupkulturnih koncepata „novoplemena“,
„životnog stila“ i „scene“ na zagrebačke trepere, međutim nisu zanemariva i određena
klasična supkulturna obilježja poput „bricolagea“.

Abstract (english)

Trap is a relatively new musical genre that is being listened to by an increasing number of
young people in Croatia. This is evidenced by the large turnout of young people at trap
concerts and festivals, as well as the large audience of trap on streaming platforms such as
Spotify and Deezer. Trap developed in the south of the USA and is a subgenre of hip hop
music. In Croatia, we associate the beginning of the development of trap music with the early
2010s, and the first well-known performers are: "Kiša metaka", "High5" and "Kukus". In this
work, the researcher analyzes and discusses trap in Zagreb by means of insider ethnography
and the use of participatory observation methods, semi-structured interviews and reflective
thematic analysis. In the first part of the paper, the researcher defines trap music and
considers the relevance of this topic, in the second part of the paper, the key subcultural and
post-subcultural theoretical concepts and the research implementation methodology are
stated. In the central part of the paper, the results of the conducted research are presented,
while in the Discussion and Conclusion chapters relevant theoretical concepts are connected
with the research results, and the researcher answers the research question based on the
applicability of post-subcultural concepts to trap in Zagreb. The key concepts of
subculturalism such as class, resistance proved to be insufficiently relevant. The research has
shown the applicability of the post-subcultural concepts of "neo tribe", "lifestyle" and "scene"
to the trepers, however, certain classic subcultural characteristics such as bricolage are also
not negligible.
