Abstract

U fokusu ovoga rada odnos je između dvaju klasika hrvatske književnosti, Antuna Gustava Matoša i Tina Ujevića, odnosno njihova poznata polemika započeta 1911. godine. Taj je odnos predstavljen u njegovu trajanju, od početnoga Ujevićeva uvažavanja literarno iskusnijega Antuna Gustava Matoša do javnoga odricanja i osporavanja. Pritom se osobita pozornost posvećuje pitanjima književnih prethodnika i sljedbenika te fenomenima autorske originalnosti i pozicioniranja u nacionalnom kanonu.
U središtu analitičko-interpretativne analize jesu Ujevićevi članci „Cezar na samrti“ i „Barres i Oinobares“ te Matoševi odgovori na njih „Zar i ti, Brute?“ te „Literarni fakini“. Zaključno se promišlja o posljedicama tih polemika na sveukupno poimanje hrvatske književnosti, odnosno o tome na koji način je polemika Matoš - Ujević utjecala na širu sliku hrvatske književnosti.

Abstract (english)

The main focus of this work will be the relation of the two Croatian literary classics, Antun Gustav Matoš and Tin Ujeviš, that is the polemics starting in 1911. The relation will be introduced from the Ujević’ initial respect for the literary more experienced Gustav Matoš to renunciation and denying in 1911. At the same time, special attention will be paid to questions of literary predecessors and successors, phenomenons of originality and positioning in the national canon. The centre of the interpretative analysis will be Ujević’s articles ’Caesar on Deathbed’and ’Barres and Oinobarres’, and Matos’ responses to them ’And you, Brutus? ’, and ’Literary scamps’. Finally, the consequence of those polemics for the altogether understanding of the Croatian literature will be abstracted, respectively in what way the Matoš– Ujević polemics made an effect on the Croatian literature’s wider picture.
