Abstract

Tanzsport ist keine abgekapselte Tätigkeit, sondern eine sich ständig verändernde und weiterentwickelnde, die von soziokulturellen Ereignissen beeinflusst wird und sensibel auf die Geschehnisse um sie herum reagiert. Tanzsport findet immer in größeren gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhängen statt. Politische Auseinandersetzungen, Veränderungen in der Mode, Musik, verbesserte Reisemöglichkeiten, lokale, globale, soziale und kulturelle Veränderungen und nicht zuletzt der Einfluss der Medien haben die Tanzszene geprägt. Die rasante Entwicklung des Tanzsports hat sich vor allem im 20. Jahrhundert vollzogen, wobei seine Wurzeln in Frankreich und England vor etwa 110 Jahren lagen. Auch heute verändert sich der Tanzsport im rasanten Tempo. Während die einen den Tanzsport in erster Linie als Kunst betrachten, sehen andere seine Zukunft als eine leistungsorientierte Sportart. Mit seinen Ursprüngen als Gesellschaftstanz hat sich der Tanzsport durch den Prozess der Tanzdemokratisierung entwickelt, der den Gesellschaftstanz von einer auf die Unterhaltung der Eliten und Privilegierten bezogenen Aktivität zu einem Sport für alle Personen umgestaltet hat, unabhängig von ihrer Hautfarbe, sozialem und wirtschaftlichem Status, oder Geschlecht. In den 1920er und 1930er Jahren begannen professionelle Tanzlehrer den Prozess der Standardisierung von Tanzfiguren. Infolgedessen konnten internationale Wettbewerbe im Tanzsport organisiert werden. Die folgende Diplomarbeit analysiert die soziokulturellen Einflüsse und die Entwicklung der zehn Tänze im internationalen Tanzsport. Der offizielle englische Figurenlehrplan, herausgegeben von der World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), wird vorgestellt, analysiert und danach in die deutsche, russische und kroatische Sprache übersetzt.

Abstract (english)

Dancesport is not an isolated activity, but one that is constantly changing and evolving, influenced by sociocultural events and sensitive to the happenings around it. Dancesport always takes place within larger social contexts. Political disputes, changes in fashion, music, improved travel opportunities, local or global, social and cultural changes, and the influence of the media have all shaped the dance scene. The rapid development of dancesport occurred during the 20th century, with its roots in France and England about 110 years ago. It still continues to change at a rapid pace. While some consider dancesport to be primarily an art form, others see its future as a performance-focused sport. With its origins as a social dance, dancesport has developed through the process of dance democratization, which reshaped social dance from an activity for entertaining the elites and the privileged into a sport for people of all races, social and economic statuses and genders. During the 1920s and 1930s, professional dance teachers started the process of the standardization of dance figures. As a result, international competitions in dancesport could be organised. The following diploma thesis analyses the sociocultural influences and the development of each of the ten dances in international dancesport. The official English figure syllabus published by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is presented, analysed and translated into German, Russian and Croatian.
