Abstract

Reiki je iscjeliteljska tehnika koja se bazira na energiji kojom se iscjeljuje i za koju se vjeruje da se može prenositi s osobe na osobu polaganjem ruku. Ta energija ima iscjeljujući učinak na tijelo, um i emocije. Nastala je u Japanu početkom dvadesetog stoljeća, a svijetom se proširila 1970-ih i 1980-ih zahvaljujući Novom dobu. U ovom diplomskom radu prikazani su važni elementi reikija, a to su inicijacija u reiki, stupnjevi u reikiju, simboli u reikiju, sinkretistički aspekti reikija i reiki-tretman. Inicijacija je nezaobilazni element reikija bez kojeg pojedinac ne može prakticirati reiki. Reiki-tehniku čine tri stupnja i inicijacijom u više stupnjeve stječe se znanje simbola koji pospješuju reiki-tretmane. Vrste tretmana koji se u reikiju nude jesu tretman na dodir i tretman na daljinu, pri čemu nije potrebno da je osoba koja se tretira prisutna. Bitan je aspekt reikija i njegov sinkretizam, koji je u ovom radu prikazan kroz dva svjetonazora: biomedicinu i kršćanstvo. Reiki i biomedicina povezani su zahvaljujući Novom dobu i implementacijom reikija u područje komplementarne i alternativne medicine. Odnos reikija i kršćanstva, naizgled dvaju nespojivih elemenata, u ovom je radu prikazan kroz praksu reiki-terapeuta, pri čemu oni modifikacijom obaju elemenata čine jednu sebi smislenu cjelinu, a ti elementi služe kao nadopuna jedan drugome.

Abstract (english)

Reiki is a healing tehnique that is based on an energy which heals and is believed to transfer from one person to another by laying hands. This energy has a healing efect on the body, mind and emotion. Reiki originated in Japan in the early twentieth century, and spread around the world in the 1970s and 1980s thanks to the New Age. In this thesis, important elements of Reiki are presented, namely initiation into Reiki, degrees in Reiki, Reiki symbols, syncretistic aspects of Reiki and Reiki treatment. Initiation is an unavoidable element of Reiki, without it an individual cannot practice Reiki. The Reiki technique consists of three degrees and by initiating into higher degree, it provides additional knowledge of the symbols that enhance Reiki treatments. The types of treatments offered in Reiki are touch treatment and distance treatment where the person being treated does not need to be present. An important aspect of Reiki is its syncretism, which is presented in this thesis through two world views: biomedicine and Christianity. Reiki and biomedicine are connected thanks to the New Age and the implementation of Reiki in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. The relationship between Reiki and Christianity, although seemingly two incompatible elements, is presented in this paper through the practice of Reiki therapists where by modifying both elements they form one self-meaning unity and these two element sserve as a complement to each other.
